The Representative of the Catholicosate of Cilicia attends a conference on Martyrdom  

 

23 September 2015. With the blessings of His Holiness Aram I, Very Rev Housig Mardirossian took part in a conference 13-14 September 2015, on the theme of Martyrdom in Jasenovac (Slovania). It was organized by Bishop Jovan of Slavonia, commemorating the massacre of Serbs by the Ustasa – the Croatian Revolutionary movement during World War II. Rev Housig spoke of the Sanctification of the martyrs of the Armenian Genocide. On 17 September he was invited to present the Cilicia Museum, and address the issue Genocide and the loss of Armenian cultural heritage at the public Library in Belgrade.

 

During his travel Rev Housig met with Bieshop Arseny, Vicar Bishop of the Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church, and the Catholic Bishop Antun Skvorcevic of Pozega(Croatia). Both clergy expressed their concern for the Situation in the Middle East, the Syrian Refugees and Christian presence in the Middle East.
