On Wednesday morning Catholicos Aram I received the recently appointed Ambassador of Greece to Lebanon H.E. Theodore Passas at St. Mary’s Monastery.
After welcoming and congratulating the ambassador, His Holiness explained the history, mission and vocation of the Catholicosate of Cilicia and the present situation of the Armenian diaspora.
They also discussed the situation in the Middle East and Lebanon, as well as
His Holiness’ forthcoming visit to Greece. Ambassador Passas then updated the Catholicos on the current situation in Greece, praising the Armenian community for their solidarity with the people of Greece. He then assured His Holiness of the commitment of Greece to the Armenian Cause and the message of the 100th anniversary commemorations of the Genocide.
