His Holiness Aram I offers the opening prayers of the Senate Session at Capitol Hill in Washington

On Thursday 5 May 2015, in the morning, His Holiness Aram I went to the Capitol Hill in Washington D.C., where he first met with US Senate Democratic party leader Harry Reid, Senators Jack Reed and Diane Feinstein. He spoke to them of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, the Armenian diaspora, and the situation in the Middle East and in Lebanon. He then thanked them for the American Relief organizations who had taken care of the orphans of the Genocide during and after the tragedy.

Catholicos Aram I then offered the opening prayers of the Senate Session by asking the Almighty God to guide the endeavours of that noble body and prayed for the one-and-a-half million martyrs of the Armenian Genocide and their descendants who are still claiming justice, which was a gift of God.
