His Holiness Aram I on a Pastoral visit to the United States of America

On Wednesday 6 May 2015, Catholicos Aram I left for Washington accompanied by Very Rev. Housig the Ecumenical Officer and Rev. Bedros, staff-bearer. In Washington the Catholicos will be joined by the other members of his delegation, Archbishop Oshagan Choloyan, Eastern Prelacy, USA, Archbishop Mushegh Mardirossian, Western Prelacy, USA, Bishop Meghrik Parikian, Prelacy of Canada, Bishop Anoushavan Tanielian, Vicar General of the Eastern Prelacy.

 

In Washington His Holiness Aram I and his delegation will take part in events commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide and then they will travel to New Jersey, New York, Philadelphia, Boston, Detroit, and Chicago, where the Catholicos will meet with the Armenian community, pray with them, remember the martyrs and transmit his pontifical message on the occasion of the centenary of the 1915 Armenian Genocide. During the visit His Holiness will also meet local ecumenical and political leaders.
