Children Animated the St. Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral on Palm Sunday

30 March 2015. On Palm Sunday over a thousand children holding palm leaves and candles, accompanied by their parents, came to celebrate Palm Sunday and join the procession. In his sermon, His Holiness Aram I reminded the faithful that Palm Sunday this year means not only the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, but also exaltation for the presence of Armenians from Armenia, Karabakh, Lebanon and the Diaspora, who continue to live with the spiritual and moral values of the Church and with the hopes and dreams of the nation. His Holiness told the faithful that although Turkey tried to exterminate the Armenians one hundred years ago, they have survived and will continue demanding from Turkey the recognition of the genocide and compensation for their losses.

At the end of the Holy Liturgy, the Pontifical message, and the procession, the people gathered at the main Hall of the Patriarchal residence where His Holiness blessed the children and offered them gifts.
